Killers abound

To wake up and realize you are surrounded by 98% of the population believing its a-ok to torture and kill, confine and create so much suffering, is a very scary realization.  To find out 60 billion animals a year are held captive, tortured, abused, denied freedom of most basic needs like movement, is so traumatic you can't even comprehend it.  To know that another 60 billion are alive and in pain, distress and constant torture is scarier than any horror film on tv.  No one could dream up a more horrific storyline if they tried.  No wonder I have felt alone all my life.  Like a stranger in a strange land.  I do not want to admit my family, friends, co-workers etc are all torturers and killers but they are. I am.  I have been a part of the system i believed in.  I actually believed my food was properly treated, living somewhere free of pain (relatively) the way we all do, and that one day it had a very peaceful quick exit.  I have found it to be otherwise.  Extremely otherwise. I cannot enable this any longer.  I will speak up and encourage everyone please do the same.  And now that i realize how badly the animals are treated i realize there is not really humane farming.  the farmer must hate the animal to kill it.  we keep our hate alive by treating it worse as we have done to feed the masses.  we have denied the animal everything that is his/ hers.  We have violated these animals. and so it occurs to me that this is the height of the way of the hunter.  a hunter so good they have bred the animal, held it captive, held it so captive it cannot even move ever, then kill it.  that hunter has refined his practice to an all time high.  and at the extreme you pollute the water and run out of food to feed the animals you eat and you collapse the eco system and starve.  a gatherer sustains.  we are seeing the extremes now and the hunters will die off as a matter of principle.  they are violent.  violence is never the right way ever.  thou shall not kill. killing is wrong you just don't do it.  and to torture, you don't do it.  to intentionally create suffering for another living being will only create suffering for the deliverer. its a karmic link. To see your fellows create suffering for themselves and the animals is heart breaking to say the least.  I long to live on a peaceful planet.  A planet with humans who respect life, respect themselves, respect each other.  We have just 2% of our population living respectfully and the others have violated the basics.  They walk around in confusion and madness amongst the sickness every day.  When will we wake up?  When will we see the error of our ways?  Humans are too greedy to farm animals morally.  They have abused the animals in the name of profit and greed and "taste."  Humans have been given the earth and look at what we have done with it. We face global water crisis and pollution and eventually starvation with our chosen path.  The violence will end whether we choose to end it or not.  Violence is not acceptable behaviour.  Not at home, not at school, not at work, not at a factory farm.  Violence and murder is for uncivilized nations.  A civilization so uneducated they know not what they do.  Violence is sickness.  Murder is madness.  We know better now.  We can build a brighter future.  A sustainable future.  A happy planet.  We can do this! it can't be any worse than what we have done so far with constant war. if we are at war with our food, the source of our being, how can we not be at war with everything else?
