Aloe vera is one of the only known natural vegetarian sources of Vitamin B12, and it contains many minerals vital to the growth process and healthy function of all the body's systems. Numerous studies worldwide indicate that aloe vera is a general tonic for the immune system, helping it to fight illness of all kinds. Various research studies are underway to explore the potential of aloe vera components to boost immunity and combat the HIV virus, and to treat certain types of cancer (particularly leukemia). It may even have a role to play in managing diabetes.

Aloe vera contains protein, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamins A, B12 and E, essential fatty acids and is naturally rich in: Vitamin C which helps maintain tone of blood vessels and promotes good circulation and is essential to the health of the adrenal gland which supports our body in times of stress. Amino acids which are chains of atoms constructing protein in our body. Enzymes, which are the life-principle in every live, organic atom and molecule of natural raw food, rejuvenate aged tissues and promote healthy skin. Germanium which is a mineral that some health authorities claim therapeutic benefits for: immunodeficiency, pain, cardiac disorders, circulatory disturbances and eye problems.

Aloe vera juice is said to be one of the finest body cleansers, cleaning morbid matter from the stomach, liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, and is considered the finest, known colon cleanser. Studies have shown that it is healing and soothing in the relief of indigestion, stomach distress and ulcers. People claim relief from arthritis, bladder and kidney infections; leg cramps, constipation, hemorrhoids, insomnia, and for vaginitis, it is said to be an excellent vaginal douche. An excellent internal tonic for energy and well being Aloe juice may add greatly to the strength of the food fed, digestive tract, skin, and overall good health and happiness.

I could go on and on about the huge benefits of Aloe vera, I have been using it for decades in every form. I used to have a plant where i would cut off a piece and rub the gel over my face after i got out of the shower. The feeling of the cool gel is amazingly soothing and I love the way it dries on my face.

However a doctor told me that if there was a bacteria in the plant, thus, I buy a 99% pure aloe vera gel that has been cleaned.. I make an exfoliant with aloe vera, ground green tea, Himalayan pink sea salt, brown sugar, jojoba oil and olive oil.

I also buy aloe vera in juice form and mix it in with all my smoothies or I drink it straight. It is a little bitter but the benefits are totally worth it as it lowers cholesterol, prevents cancer, amplifies antioxidants and vitamins like E and C. Aloe stimulates your immune system as well.

Vegetarian Lentil Loaf Recipe - Vegetarian Lentil Loaf Recipe - Lentil Loaf - Vegan Loaf Recipe - Lentil and Rice Loaf

Vegetarian Lentil Loaf Recipe - Vegetarian Lentil Loaf Recipe - Lentil Loaf - Vegan Loaf Recipe - Lentil and Rice Loaf:

'via Blog this'

substitutes: cabbage for onion, ginger for garlic, add hing
sub sage for cumin or corriander powder
sub plain tomato sauce or fresh tomatoes for ketchup
add cayanne pepper
add spinach
add ground flax seed
add sunflower seeds
sesame seeds
cashews
tamari
tahini
miso
olives
nutritional yeast
enough water to blend
add all to big bowl and stir until well blended
add cornmeal to thicken approx 1 cup
cook at 375 for 1.5 hours makes two loaves

Vegan Milk Recipe

fills one large 4 litre jar

2-3 cups cooked brown rice (soak overnight or minium two hours then drain rinse before cooking)
1 cup brown lentil cooked (soak overnight or minium two hours then drain rinse before cooking)
1 cup raw steel cut oats (soak overnight or minium two hours then drain rinse do not cook)(or 2 cups cooked flake oats)
1 cup almonds (soak overnight or minium two hours then drain and rinse do not cook) (or cashews, pecans etc)
approx 1 tbsp cinnamon to taste
1 tbsp molasses
1/8 tsp salt or just a pinch
1 tbsp vanilla to taste
4-6 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup to taste
blend in stages put brown rice in blender cover with cold water by about 1-2 inches and blend until as smooth as possible then add to jar
repeat for almonds, then oats, then add remaining ingredients to blender with the lentils and blend well
add remaining mixture to jar and stir well. You can also add soaked shredded coconut to this recipe if you like but it makes the milk separate more when stored and it goes bad really quickly like in two days compared to 3-4.
Blend very well to fine pulp as small as you can blend it then screen through fine mess strainer and add equal parts cold water as you do.  2 cups of the raw milk added with 2 cups cold water will yield 1 litre to keep in the fridge for immediate use. Save the rest in the large jar until you need it and strain it.  It strains slowly and the pulp is good to add to muffins or dog food. the strained milk is excellent in smoothies, tea, coffee, cereal, on its own.  i drink a ton of this and has protein, iron, zinc, b vitamins calcium etc.  a great simple smoothie is 3 cups of this milk, 2 cups frozen or fresh berries, sweetener to taste say 2 tbsp brown sugar or rogers syrup, as much fresh organic spinach raw you can fit in the blender, about 1 tbsp chunk of fresh raw ginger  blend and voila!
yum!  deeelish!

Long Life

We all want to live long, happy, meaningful, healthy lives. Genes may indeed have a role in the likelihood of living a long life, but we all know it's the everyday lifestyle choices that will ultimately determine the quality and length of our lives. Most of us are pretty savvy and know the standard American diet just can't support the kind of health and vibrancy we are looking for. So we have changed our diets to include more fresh, organic produce, eliminating saturated animal fats, sugar, chemicals, etc. However, even if we are eating the best diet in the world, we could still be robbing our body of desperately needed nutrients.

It starts with our soils. Our food is only as nutrient rich as our soils, which have been over farmed and depleted over the past 50 years by huge corporate farming techniques. Our foods are a mere shadow of the spinach of Popeye's day. Some studies say many of the nutrients are missing. Modern tomatoes prove the taste is absolutely missing. Food has sadly become entertainment with very little real taste or nourishment. Processed, denatured, chemically grown, hybridized, genetically altered, irradiated, less than just picked fresh food will have the same careless, unnatural effects on our cells.

Immune systems become compromised as well as attitudes and outlooks. Our systems only run as good as the fuel we put in them. Degenerative disease is on the rise. We don't catch degenerative disease; we earn it with each bite we take.

Pick up any magazine and you will find a plethora of diets, fads, does and don'ts. Yoga advocates a vegan diet. Over the past 50 years, this is what I have found that works best for me, VEGAN.

Cut out meat. It's loaded with chemicals, antibiotics, growth hormones and all sorts of junk. The meat itself is hard to and long to digest, (who chews their food 40 times?) staying in your bowels for many, many hours, putrefying and causing havoc. It's expensive, risky (rots) and is hard on the environment to produce. You won't miss it and you'll live much longer.

Cut out dairy. Dairy is filled with the same garbage as meat. It's hard to digest, gunks up the system and is really fattening. Milk is a wonder food for calves, it helps them grow to 1000 pounds.

Drink organic vegetable juice. Drink as much organic juice during the day that is possible. I juice fresh organic beets, red cabbage, kale, parsley, carrots, spinach and apple every day. I drink at least two 48 ounce glasses a day. I also mix my blue green algae in 24 ounces of fresh organic tomato juice very morning. I add flaxseed oil, hemp seed oil and wheat germ oil.

GO 80% RAW. Raw food is alive. You will digest your food easier, get more energy from it and will feel light and bright. Humans are the only creatures on the planet to cook their food... get back to the way nature intended and leave the stove behind. Eat as much raw organic vegetables and fruit as you can. Cook organic whole grains like barley, wheat berries, quinoa, buckwheat, spelt. Eat organic mung, adzuki and garbanzo beans. Organic winter squash, yams and potatoes are delicious and extremely high with the most beneficial nutrients.

Eat low on the food chain. Eat simple and bright. Chemicals and toxins "bio-accumulate" in plants and animals. The higher up the food chain you go, the more toxic it becomes. Tuna fish has all the toxins found in the other fish it eats and the toxins from fish and plants those bate fish eat..and on and on.

Ingest Blue-Green Algae. Here's why! It's a miracle! Blue Green Algae is the most ancient plant on the planet! Algae is the first thing to discover photosynthesis. It took sunlight and water and created chlorophyll and oxygen!! And that's just what it does in your body!! Chlorophyll is a potent blood cleanser and oxygen keeps the cells vibrant. Algae practically bypasses digestion. It is 98% absorbed by our bodies like a thirsty sponge. Blue-green algae has ALL the minerals and micronutrients we need to live vibrant lives... as well as being 60% protein! It is the bottom of the food chain and supports all life.

Support your local organic farmer and tell them how much you appreciate their hard work and integrity. If you have the resources, grow your own organic produce. Your family will feel a sense of pride every time you sit down to a meal.......Don't forget your B12 supplement everyday

Global Warming and Farming

Global warming deniers are the new Holocaust deniers. In the past 50 years we have wreaked havoc on our planet all in the name of agricultural, technology and industrial revolutions. The growth of transportation, the world's enormous appetite for the Western diet and the increase 1000 fold for consumer goods has pushed our natural resources output right off the cliff.

Call it what you want; modernization, corporate achievements, advancements in farming, world growth.....The bottom line is "devastation" of our land, water and the air we breath. 1000's of animal and plant species that has managed to survive millions of years earth is in jeopardy of extinction or has already been wiped out by man's greedy domination and careless denial that you cannot take from our planet without giving back.

We have been warned by the science community of the twenty-first century and some of our greatest environmentalist like Robert Redford, Al Gore, David Rockefeller, and Brad Sewell have all been villainized by the right wing conservative movement as quacks, opportunist and conspirators.

The environmentalism movement has been taken over by politics and the media. Science still plays a substantial role, but policies are often based upon popular opinion rather than the reasoned weighing of various scientific factors. Despite the honest commitment that modern-day environmentalists have to making the world a better place, implementing their ideas without first engaging in robust scientific discussions has had disastrous results.

At the moment around 252 million people are affected by "natural disasters" - not including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other emergencies unrelated to the weather. However this number is set to increase by 54 per cent to 375 million every year by 2015 as the number of people living in vulnerable areas like Bangladesh increases and levels of poverty mean more die. Densely populated slums in coastal cities like Mumbai, mean millions more people are living in flimsy shacks and are at risk of water-born disease caused by rising temperatures.

Scientists outline dramatic evidence that global warming threatens the planet in a new and unexpected way – by triggering earthquakes, tsunamis, avalanches and volcanic eruptions. It is profoundly alarming that a Presidential candidate in the United States of America and all his Republican Conservative supporters define Global Warming as a "Liberal conspiracy." What do you expect from people that call evolution a fallacy and anti-religion......It is unfathomable that grown men in 2012 actually subscribe to these insane theories. What is even more dangerous is that they are within a heartbeat of being President of the United States. These same Republicans advocate wars, elitist superiority and class domination of the poor and middle class.....

Reports by international groups of researchers that were presented at a London conference last year will show that climate change, caused by rising outputs of carbon dioxide from vehicles, factories and power stations, will not only affect the atmosphere and the sea but will alter the geology of the Earth.

Melting glaciers will set off avalanches, floods and mud flows in the Alps and other mountain ranges; torrential rainfall around the world is likely to cause widespread erosion; while disappearing Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets threaten to let loose underwater landslides, triggering tsunamis world wide. At the same time the disappearance of ice caps will change the pressures acting on the Earth's crust and set off volcanic eruptions across the globe. Life on Earth faces a warm future – and a fiery one.

Not only are the oceans and atmosphere conspiring against us bringing baking temperatures and more powerful storms and floods, but the crust beneath our feet seems likely to join in too. Maybe the Earth is trying to tell us something. Global warming is not just a matter of warmer weather, more floods and stronger hurricanes. It is a wake-up call as global warming affects every aspect of our lives, especially our economy, job market, our food resources, water, the air we breathe and the general psychological tone in our community.

Scientists have found the first unequivocal link between man-made greenhouse gases and a dramatic heating of the Earth's oceans. The researchers - many funded by the US government - have seen what they describe as a "stunning" correlation between a rise in ocean temperature over the past 40 years and pollution of the atmosphere. The study destroys a central argument of global warming skeptics within the Republican party.

Lentils are superfoods

Lentils are to India as meatloaf is to America: the quintessential comfort food. Ranging from yellow and red to deep black, these tiny disc-shaped members of the legume family are eaten in some form at least twice a day in “any self-respecting Indian household,” says Kavita Mehta, founder of the Web-based Indian Foods Co. In fact, India is the world’s biggest producer and consumer of lentils. Known as dal, lentils typically are served at every meal with steamed rice or bread.

This superfood gives you protein and cholesterol-lowering soluble fiber, as well as about twice as much iron as other legumes. And lentils are higher in most B vitamins and folate, which is especially important for women of childbearing age because folate reduces the risk of birth defects. Plus, U.S. Department of Agriculture researchers discovered that the pigment in Beluga black lentils acts like an antioxidant and helps protect against heart disease, cancer, and the aging process in general. Not too shabby for something the size of a pencil eraser.

What is in lentils that make it super food? Just imagine that lentils lack only 2 essential amino acids in order to complete the 20 amino acids that we need in our body. Lentils are low in fat, high in fiber, and low in calories (230 calories for cup of cooked lentils) which are best option for dieters. The lentil seeds can aid digestion process and stabilize the blood sugar for its potential to lower the glycemic index and prevents blood sugar to rise rapidly after eating.

In addition, lentils are also rich in thiamin or vitamin B1, high in folate content or vitamin B6, loaded with minerals such as magnesium, calcium, manganese, phosphorus and iron.

Take note that magnesium, the natural calcium channel blocker, has an essential role to keep our heart healthy. Enough supply of magnesium can relax the arteries, lessen resistance, and tremendously improves the oxygen, blood flow and nutrients. Likewise, lentils are energy booster and can replenish iron stores. Some people regarded lentils as best alternative for iron meat because of its low calories and fat content.

Lastly, the high amount of tryptophan, a kind of amino acid can help to produce protein when combine to other amino acids. This tryptophan is known for anti-depression and can induce good sleep because it serves as a precursor for melatonin and serotonin of the brain. Another significant compound found in lentils is called molyddenum which function is to catalyze important chemical reactions in metabolism.

Lentils can be stored a long time, they are easy to make, and they are one of the cheapest protein sources going, at just $2.00 per pound. And unlike other legumes, you don’t have to soak them before cooking. Just rinse them in cold water and simmer in water or vegetable broth. Enjoy them plain or spiced with herbs, onions, or garlic. I simmer them with quinoa and buckwheat as the take the same time to prepare, 15 minutes.

I add a half a cup of lentils with a half a cup of either quinoa and buckwheat. You put the cup of lentils/quinoa in a pot and add two cups of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for fifteen minutes. I let stand for another ten or fifteen minutes and then place in a bowl and add chopped organic tomatoes, parsley and a little fresh organic chopped onions. Top off with fresh squeezed organic lemon and a half of an avocado. This is a perfect meal of protein, calcium, antioxidants, enzymes, fat and tons of vitamins.....

For buckwheat, add three cups of water to the one cup of buckwheat and lentils....

Canadian Government: Ban Animal Factory Farming

    1. Diana Winger
    2.
    3. Petition by
      Victoria, Canada
  1.
  2.
We can feed 7 billion people directly more efficiently than feeding the 60-100 billion animals we abuse, torture, confine, neglect and slaughter each year on this planet. We are wasting our resources. 50,000 litres of water goes into 1 kilo of beef. We could feed the one billion humans who need food if we grew food for the people directly. And we end the cycle of violence.  We have a choice.
